Our Commitment to Privacy
Here at Council on Aging of Southwestern Ohio (COA), your privacy is important to us. To protect your privacy, COA provides this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used.

This policy applies with respect to the information that we collect from visitors to our Web site, located at www.help4seniors.org. This statement also applies to information we collect in order to process commercial transactions (event registrations and donations) initiated by visitors on our Web site. By visiting this Web site, you specifically agree to and acknowledge the following statements.

The Information We Collect
This notice applies to all information collected or submitted on COA's Web site and related third-party web applications, as well as data maintained in COA's information systems. On some pages of our Web site you can register and submit credit card payments for COA sponsored events, make a donation with a credit card, or request to receive information. 

Security for credit card transactions is provided by Authorize.net. 

Event Registrations
Council on Aging uses a third-party vendor, ConstantContact, to manage registrations for COA-sponsored events.  When registering to attend a COA-sponsored event, you will be directed to an event page on the ConstantContact website. There, you will be asked to provide us with personally-identifying information about yourself, such as your name, e-mail address, telephone number, address, organization name, products/services sold, and/or credit card information.

Donations
Donations are processed and collected through Paypal. We thank you for and appreciate your decision to make a donation to Council on Aging of Southwestern Ohio. Although COA is a non-profit, charitable organization, we cannot offer individual advice concerning the financial and/or taxable status of donations. You should consult your personal financial or tax advisor for such advice.

Receive Information
On your own initiative, you may decide to send us personally-identifying information, for example, you may choose to include such information in an electronic mail message. This information will only be shared internally for the purposes of responding to your request. This information may also be used to demonstrate need for a particular service or program, but no personally identifiable information will be used without your prior consent.

Through COA's Web site you also have the option to sign up to receive periodic updates about programs, services and issues relating to older adults in our community (i.e. electronic newsletter). You may opt out of these communications at any time. To sign up for this service, you will be asked to provide your e-mail address and county of residence.

How We Use Information
We use the information you provide about yourself only to send you information you request about COA. We do not share your contact information with outside parties.

We use return e-mail addresses to answer the e-mails we receive or send information you have requested. Your e-mail address never will be shared with or sold to outside parties.

COA will never sell any of your personally identifiable information to anyone. If COA has an event or promotion in collaboration with another organization or business, we do not give the other entity your mailing information. We do submit the names and addresses of our supporters to a printing/mailing company in the form of a mailing list when we send out mass quantities of a publication (i.e. annual reports), however this company with whom we contract these services is legally bound to keep your information confidential and cannot share your information with any outside organization or business.

Our Commitment to Data Security
To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

Council on Aging uses Authorize.net to securly process credit card transactions.

Our Commitment to Children's Privacy
Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. For that reason, we never collect or maintain information at our website from those we actually know are under the age of 13, and no part of our website is structured to attract anyone under 13 to provide information to us.

How to Opt Out or Correct Your Information
At any time, you may request not to receive any e-mail from COA. We retain your request so that it will be respected in the future. You may opt out of receiving communications from COA using one of the following methods:

Using one of the contact methods listed above, you can correct factual errors in your personally identifiable information by sending us a request that credibly shows error. To protect your privacy and security, we will also take reasonable steps to verify your identify before making corrections.

  • Information (including graphics, photos, images and text), may not be cut and pasted from varies pages of the Web site to make new documents or otherwise be used by third parties (unless otherwise noted).
