Citizens for Elderly Services (CES) is an organization which provides information to elderly
citizens, care providers, persons involved in the aging network,
and the general public about issues affecting older adults.
They also educate those same groups on issues which may affect
them, focusing on the areas of community-based long-term care.
CES helps these groups understand the importance of having
a range of choices in long term care- just as we want in other
areas of our lives.
Since 1996, CES has been working to create more options and
choices for older adults in our communities. It offers Choice,
Education
and Self-Determination.
The benefits of joining CES are multiple. You become a member
of a unique grassroots advocacy group that is changing the
way communities respond to aging. The website offers direct
links
to legislators and elected officials on a federal, state,
and county level. You receive email updates regarding current
issues
affecting long term care as well as advocacy alerts, legislative
focuses and upcoming events.
CES offers education for Senior Advocates at the Senior Advocate
University. It is a one day training session offered in all
five counties. Aging experts and several state legislators
join the
session to learn about the aging network, major aging policies,
and advocacy and education as well as provide education. Presentations
are given by legislators who also participate in a panel discussion
with the senior advocates.
