COA Information

The Older Americans Act (1965) established a national aging services network and created the Administration on Aging (AOA)- the federal agency mandated to improve or develop programs, activities and services for older adults. The AOA contracts with the Ohio Department of Aging (ODA), which has divided the state into twelve planning and service areas. Within each of these regions an Area Agency on Aging has been designated to act as a catalyst for developing, coordinating and implementing services to older adults at the local level.

COA is a private, non-profit agency responsible for planning, coordinating and administrating local, state and federally funded programs and services for older adults in Butler, Clermont, Clinton, Hamilton and Warren counties. It is our mission to assist senior adults in these areas to live rewarding and independent lives through the use of programs and services that are funded at the local, state and federal level. COA matches senior adults to the programs that are most appropriate to them and the lifestyle and living environments they choose. By planning and coordinating these programs for senior adults, COA makes these programs accessible to senior adults.
