Senior Services

The Red Cross offers several programs for seniors and caregivers:

Family Caregiving Program

More than 22 million families are caring for a loved one at home. Our new Family Caregiving Program offers nine one-hour presentations that help participants provide better care.

More information about the Family Caregiving program.

Fall Prevention

Falling is a serious health risk for senior adults. Of all injuries, fall injuries are the leading cause of death, hospitalizations, and emergency department visits in adults ages 65 and over. This one-hour program includes tips for fall prevention and a home check list to assist the participants in evaluating their own homes.

Stroke Presentations

This one-hour presentation includes recognition of the warning signs of a stroke, types of strokes, how to reduce risk factors, and the importance of immediate treatment. This class is a must for all seniors living independently.

'Til Help Arrives

This program will provide the knowledge you need to recognize an emergency, when to call 9-1-1 and to know what actions to take in those first critical moments until the ambulance arrives. Learn to recognize symptoms of a heart attack, sudden illness and what to do in a choking emergency. This one-hour presentation will also provide information on what to do when disaster strikes and fire prevention tips.

These classes are offered based on request. To schedule a program call (513) 792-4000 or 1-800-241-0296.
