Help us fill gaps in care by supporting our $50 for 50 Years campaign

This is a very important time of year for non-profits, but especially for Council on Aging (COA). Not only are we entering the season of giving, starting with #GivingTuesday on Nov. 30, but this December, Council on Aging will celebrate 50 years of service to our community.
Since 1971, COA has been committed to enhancing quality of life for older adults, people with disabilities and their caregivers. We provide compassionate, cost-effective alternatives to nursing home care for individuals who want to remain independent in their homes and communities for as long as possible.
Each year of service has brought new challenges – gaps in care that our traditional funding sources are unable to meet. Recently, the gaps have grown wider. The population we serve is growing – in a few years, one in five Americans will be retirement age and seven in 10 will need some form of long-term care. Simultaneously, a shortage of care workers has left family caregivers to provide increasingly complex care while also trying to raise families and manage careers. And then there is the pandemic.
As we celebrate 50 years of service to our community, we need your support to find innovative solutions that will help us bridge these critical gaps in care. You can help by supporting COA’s $50 for 50 Years campaign.
How you can help:
Please consider a one-time or monthly recurring donation of $50 to celebrate COA’s 50th Anniversary and help us fill gaps in care for vulnerable older adults and people with disabilities.
How your donation helps:
Your donation will help COA fill gaps in care that our traditional funding sources will not cover. For example, during the pandemic, donations helped provide restaurant comfort meals and personal care supplies to low-income older adults and people with disabilities. The meals and supplies filled a critical gap in care for our neighbors who were unable to leave their homes during the pandemic.
Donations also help support the development of innovative programs and services that will help COA more effectively and efficiently serve a rapidly growing population in need.

Finally, your donation promotes dignity and independence for older adults and people with disabilities. It protects and enhances services including meals, transportation, personal care and more. These services improve quality of life for individuals who want to remain independent in their homes and communities.
During this season of giving, we thank you for your support!
