2026 Home Health Aide Hero Awards

Home health aide. Direct care worker. Paid caregiver. There are many titles to describe this critical workforce, but it comes down to one thing: caring for people, real people.
At Council on Aging, we understand the role home health aides play in providing critical and often life-saving care for older adults who want to remain in their homes as they age. We also know they provide much-needed support for family caregivers struggling to balance other responsibilities including careers and families.
Each year, COA presents this award to area home health aides and paid caregivers (AddnAide or Consumer Directed Care [CDC]) in recognition of the critical role they play in helping COA fulfill its mission by providing exceptional care to vulnerable older adults. COA is now accepting nominations for the 2026 Home Health Aide Hero Awards.
“These awards are a reminder to this critical workforce that their efforts really do make a difference in the day-to-day lives of their clients.” Council on Aging CEO, Suzanne Burke
If you know a home health aide or an AddnAide/CDC caregiver who goes above and beyond to provide exceptional care for older adults in our region, please nominate them for a 2026 Home Health Aide Hero Award. The nomination process and eligibility criteria are described below.
Winners will be selected and honored at Council on Aging’s 2026 Annual Meeting and Awards Celebration, May 15, 2026 at Cooper Creek Event Center. Winners will receive an award and a $250 check.
Eligibility

1. Employed by a Council on Aging contracted service provider, or
2. Employed as a caregiver via Consumer Directed Care, Self Directed Care and/or the AddnAide app.
Nomination Process
You can nominate a deserving home health aide or AddnAide/CDC caregiver by filling out an online nomination form.
