Council on Aging (COA) has welcomed Andy Craig as its new Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).

Craig has more than 25 years of experience in technology leadership positions, including most recently as Chief Information Officer for Hartman Executive Advisors. Prior to that, Craig worked for 17 years at Maple Knoll Communities, Inc. as vice president and chief innovation officer. In this role, he developed and executed a strategic technology roadmap for implementing transformative technology in healthcare, dining services and aging-in-place, effectively addressing staffing challenges and enhancing operational efficiency.
“An important focus area of COA’s strategic plan is to continue to implement technologies to streamline and enhance service to our clients and partners and to help our staff work more efficiently,” said Council on Aging CEO Suzanne Burke. “Andy’s background offers the perfect fit for this position from a technology leadership perspective, and his in-depth experience working on behalf of older adults at Maple Knoll Communities ensures an understanding of the needs of who we ultimately serve.”
In his role as CISO, Craig oversees COA’s two technology-focused departments: Technology and Innovation Services, COA’s internal technology operations and support department, and IT Solutions, which focuses on software development.
“I’m looking forward to working with COA staff across the board to understand how technology currently enables workflows and determining how we can improve upon those experiences. Overall, I’ll be working to ensure technology is being used to enable the agency’s business strategies, always with an eye toward security,” Craig said.
Craig holds a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems & Management from the University of Cincinnati and a master’s degree in Management from Indiana Wesleyan University. Additionally, he is ITIL v3 Certified and is trained and experienced in leading project teams.
He regularly presents about technology at conferences, and is the recipient of several technology industry awards, including the Anthem Award for Community Engagement and Responsible Technology and the ComSpark Tech Power Player Award.
Craig and his wife Jessica reside in West Chester. They have three children and one grandchild.
