Clermont residents enjoy Tai Chi as part of COA’s Health and Wellness Program

June 4, 2026

Council on Aging (COA) partners with area organizations throughout southwest Ohio to offer a variety of free health and wellness programs designed with older adults and caregivers in mind. The goal: to help them better manage their own health.

One such partner is Provisions Living West Clermont which offers Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention, an evidence-based health promotion, disease prevention program available to older adults and their caregivers through COA.

Residents of Provision Living West Clermont enjoy this 8-week program offered onsite in the fitness center. “We are so grateful COA offers free programs that are led by in-person instructors rather than recorded video programming,” says Lacey Wallace, Director of Activities.

Tai Chi participants enjoy learning Tai Chi’s signature smooth movements and encourage others to try it. “It’s a wonderful program,” one participant shared. “I especially like that it promotes memory challenge.”

Tai Chi offers many benefits – including fun. “We are always laughing and it’s good for our mental health,” says Catherine Walsh who leads the workshop. “Plus, any movement is good movement, rather performed seated or standing.”
