BLUE ASH, OHIO, Aug. 13, 2025 — Council on Aging (COA) is thrilled to announce that its Laundry Delivery Service received a USAging 2025 Aging Achievement Award, one of the highest honors presented by USAging to its members. COA’s laundry delivery service was among 26 aging programs to receive Achievement honors during USAging’s 50th Annual Conference and Tradeshow, July 20–23 in Chicago, IL. An additional 15 agencies received Innovations Awards.

The 2025 USAging Aging Innovations & Achievement Awards, supported by Caregiving.com and Cumulus.care, recognizes USAging’s Area Agency on Aging and Title VI Native American Aging Program members that have found new and innovative ways to support older adults, people with disabilities and caregivers as they live in their homes and communities.

“At USAging, we are proud to celebrate the exceptional accomplishments of the 2025 Aging Innovations & Achievement Awards recipients—especially as we mark the 50th anniversary of USAging and our Annual Conference and Tradeshow,” said USAging CEO Sandy Markwood. “These award-winning programs exemplify the creativity, dedication and impact that define our Aging Network. They are not only improving the lives of older adults and caregivers today, but also shaping a stronger, more supportive future for aging in every community across the country.”

Faced with long waiting lists due to the national home health aide shortage and lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, COA sought and found an innovative, cost-effective solution to meeting a common need among older adults enrolled in COA’s FastTrack Home and ESP programs. COA’s Laundry Delivery Service meets a critical need for older adults who cannot do their own laundry due to a disability or chronic health condition. It helps older adults remain independent, redirects home health aides to more intensive services or clients, reduces costs and receives high satisfaction marks from participants. “Laundry is one of the primary activities of daily living many older adults need help with,” said Stephanie Seyfried, vice president in training of managed care and aging services at COA and the architect of the service. “Disability, chronic health issues, location of laundry facilities in the home and transportation are all barriers that make it difficult for older adults to manage laundry on their own. With this service, we can fill an important need for many older adults while also saving money and serving more people. Most importantly, clients are very happy with the service.”

The 2025 USAging Aging Innovations & Achievement Awards honored traditional and new strategies in a range of categories, including advocacy, agency operations, caregiving, economic security, elder abuse prevention, healthy aging, home and community-based services, intergenerational programs, nutrition, social engagement, technology, and workforce development and volunteerism.

All winners are highlighted in the USAging Aging Innovations & Achievement Awards Showcase.
