Council on Aging (COA) is looking for volunteers to help older adults use technology (cell phones, tablets and computers) to connect to resources that will help them remain independent in their homes and communities.
Volunteer work will be conducted in the homes of COA clients in Hamilton and Warren counties. Volunteers will use their own device (cellphone, laptop or tablet) to demonstrate and teach an older adult how to use AddnAide on a similar device owned by the older adult. Past experience in teaching, IT support, or working with older adults is NOT required. COA will provide training to all volunteers and background checks will be required.
Ideally, volunteers will provide support to at least two older adults per month.
If you would like to volunteer, please click here to complete our volunteer interest form. A COA employee will contact you after you complete the form.
Basic Eligibility Guidelines:
- be age 18 or older
- have a valid photo ID
- have access to transportation
- not be currently enrolled in high school (college students will be accepted)
- have a smart device (cellphone, laptop or tablet)
- have a valid email address
Training will be provided by COA. Because volunteers will be entering the homes of older adults enrolled in a Council on Aging program, background checks will be required.
