Senior Centers

A Senior Center provides a variety of programs and services for seniors who typically live nearby. Programs include activities, educational opportunities, counseling and support groups, volunteer opportunities, and wellness programs. Some centers also offer meals, help with financial and medical paperwork, transportation to and from the center, shopping trips, outings, and other services.

55 North is an independent, community based non-profit

We receive support from the Ohio Department of Aging through the Council on Aging of Southwestern Ohio, United Way, neighborhood churches, foundations and private individuals.

 

We do not charge for lunch, transportation, or social services. We offer health and wellness activities, transportation, social services, and caregiver connections, mostly free of charge.

 

Membership is not required to participate in any activity or service offered by 55 North, but it is a simple way to show your support. Click the button below for our online application.

 


Anderson Township Senior Center

Description:

Our goal is to provide a Senior Center with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. A place where you can participate in activities, meet new friends and learn through educational programs. But our overall goal is to have fun! 

The Anderson Township Senior Center is operated and managed by Anderson Township Board of Trustees.  Anderson Township contracts with Cincinnati Area Senior Services (CASS) to provide daily meals, transportation services, and senior support services.  The Council on Aging works with CASS to provide Meals on Wheels in our area.  

What makes us a well-rounded Senior Center? Monthly, we offer educational programs, cultural outings, fun trips and guest speakers. These activities are combined with our daily/weekly activities of exercise, cards, bingo, watercolors, corn hole and more.

Bond Hill Senior Center

Description:

The Cincinnati Recreation Commission senior programs offer something to fit every lifestyle for those 50 and older. CRC recreation centers offer activities such as aerobics, sports, crafts and dance.  

A highlight for CRC seniors is the annual Southwest Ohio Senior Olympics. Since 1992, this fun and challenging program has promoted healthy lifestyle choices and is open to athletes ages 50 and older. Events include golf, swimming, tennis, track & field and many more. Senior Olympics are held in April and May each year.

Since 1968, CRC has honored Hamilton County seniors at the annual Senior Citizen Hall of Fame. More than 1,600 seniors, ages 60+ have been inducted. This event unifies the Cincinnati community and recognizes the benefits and talents of its extraordinary senior citizens. The Senior Citizen Hall of Fame is held in the fall of each year.

The Colerain Township Senior and Community Center is a contracted provider of Council on Aging offering the following services:

The Colerain Township Community Senior Center offers membership to those ages 50 and above. Cost of membership for the calendar year is $20 residents and $30 non-residents. The facility has two halls, two kitchens, an arts room, music room, game room, computer center, atrium area and outdoor garden/fountain area. The Senior Center offers a vast array of programming for all interests as well as services and volunteer opportunities. The Colerain Township Community Center is also a Congregate Meal Site, serving meals Monday through Friday at 11:30 am.

Countryside YMCA

Description:

Just like that daily cup of coffee, coming to the Y starts your day off right. In the Stolle Center – our private facility for those 50 and over – members enjoy everything from fitness classes and warm water pool activities to social gatherings and day trips. Games, movies, and a comfortable pool side lounge provide even more entertainment. Come grab a cup of coffee and enjoy life at the Y.

A range of fitness programs provides a focus on improving health and wellness. Activities include Gentle Pilates, Senior Strive Circuit Training, Walk Aerobics, and Zumba Basics to name a few. Countryside YMCA also offers numerous water fitness programs specifically designed for older adults in a private warm water pool (temperature is maintained between 86-88 degrees).

  • Daily social programming includes bridge games, movies, puzzles, and board games – all in a private access setting. There’s even an exclusive library to peruse.
  • Arts and enrichment programs feature favorite activities as well as new trends in hobby building.
  • Senior members can enjoy Wii games or use the big screen TV to watch football, baseball, and more.
  • Other unique amenities include comfortable poolside lounge furniture, a countryside view, and a whirlpool.

Description:

The Forest Park Senior Center, located at 11555 Winton Road, is a multi-purpose facility that provides a warm and cozy atmosphere for hosting senior programs geared to residents 55+.


Green Township Senior Center

Description:

The Green Township Senior Citizens` Center is located at 3620 Epley Road in northern Green Township. The center offers or sponsors many activities and services for senior citizens. It also serves as the hub for the local Meals on Wheels program. The center is also available for rent for private functions.

Harrison Senior Center

Description:

The Harrison Senior Center is a contracted provider of Council on Aging offering the following services:

  • home-delivered meals
  • congregate meals

The Harrison Senior Center is located at 300 George Street in the Harrison Community Center. It is open to all seniors over the age of 60. Hours of operation are 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.  Congregate meals are served Monday thru Friday at 11:30 am.


Hartwell Senior Center

Mayerson JCC (Jewish Community Center)

Mayerson JCC (Jewish Community Center) is a contracted provider of Council on Aging offering the following services:

Mayerson JCC and Senior Center offers:  ShalomNet Computer Classes, Digital Photography Club, ShalomPhone, Home Delivered Meals, Congregate Meal site. 

Mayerson JCC offers congregate meals Monday thru Friday, check-in at 11:45 am each day.  Congregate meal options are also offered at the Mayersnon JCafe on Sunday 9:30am-4:00pm; Monday thru Thursday 7:30am-6:00pm; Friday 7:30 am-2:30pm.

With the JCC ShalomNet Computer Classes, you can learn the skills you need to surf the web, and e-mail friends and family at JCCs around the U.S. and the world! ShalomNet Computer Classes are held once a week for four, six, or eight weeks. You can join anytime!

The new ShalomNet Digital Photography Club teaches you modern photo techniques such as downloading pictures from digital cameras, scanning photographs, making photo manipulations and much more. Held in the JCC computer lab, these classes are specially designed for senior adults. ShalomNet is a JCC program and an initiative of The Manuel D. and Rhoda Mayerson Foundation. The photography club is FREE, and open to all senior adult JCC or ASK members.  Members will be responsible for their own expenses. Basic computer knowledge is preferred.  ShalomNet Digital Photography Club meetings will be held on the first and third Monday of every month at the JCC. Members can join at any time!

ShalomPhone

A telephone outreach program for seniors, ages 60 & older. Volunteers make daily calls to check on the well-being of elderly and disabled persons who live alone. ShalomPhone is funded by the Manuel D. and Rhoda Mayerson Foundation to support seniors who prefer to live independently. FREE.

he Miami Township Senior Center opened in 1983 as a senior facility to serve the social, recreational and educational needs of older adults in our area. Although you must be at least 55 to become a member, there are many classes, activities and volunteer opportunities for those 18 and over.

Clermont Senior Services is a private, nonprofit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to serving older adults. Clermont Senior Services is a source for information on services for seniors, age 60 and over, who live in Clermont County, Ohio. For nearly forty years, Clermont Senior Services have been providing and coordinating in-home and community based services, which enable older adults to live independently for as long as possible. The Cincinnati Recreation Commission senior programs offer something to fit every lifestyle for those 50 and older. CRC recreation centers offer activities such as aerobics, sports, crafts and dance.  Congregate meals are offered at many CRC centers, including the Oakley Recreation Center. 

A highlight for CRC seniors is the annual Southwest Ohio Senior Olympics. Since 1992, this fun and challenging program has promoted healthy lifestyle choices and is open to athletes ages 50 and older. Events include golf, swimming, tennis, track & field and many more. Senior Olympics are held in April and May each year.

Over The Rhine Senior Center

Description:

The Senior Center is at 1722 Race Street in the Cincinnati neighborhood of Over-the-Rhine. Located between W. Elder and Green streets, a block from Findlay Market. It’s open Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m.

 

We provide bus transportation to and from the Senior Center to those who request it. Arrangements can be made by calling 513-721-0375.

 

Activities, meals and transportation are free to anyone who is at least 60 years old. Seniors are encouraged to contribute $1 per meal and can do so anonymously, but no one is denied a meal if they are unable to contribute.

 

Breakfast is served weekdays at 8:30 a.m. Lunch is served at noon. We encourage seniors to let us know if they plan to join us for breakfast or lunch by calling 513-381-3007. But they’re also welcome to walk in without contacting us first. Our daily menus change monthly.

About Oxford Seniors

The purpose of Oxford Seniors is to provide physical, spiritual, social, educational, vocational and intellectual programs for adults 50 years and older. It shall act as an advocacy agency for them. Oxford Seniors is a Council on Aging Elderly Service Program Provider,  PASSPORT Provider, and Home Delivered Meals Provider.

Senior Transportation

Senior Transportation provided by Oxford Seniors is available to older adults 60 years of age or older or disabled individuals of any age.  The transportation service operates Monday, 9:00am to 7:00pm, Tuesday through Friday, 9:00am to 3:30pm, and on Sunday, 9:00am to 12:30pm.  The suggested donation is $1.50 one-way around town and $5.00 one-way out-of-town.  Rides should be scheduled 24-hours in advance with priority given to medical appointments.  Riders may use the service to travel to a variety of destinations including the grocery store, post office, library, hair dresser, physician, and hospital.  Contact the Transportation Dispatcher at 513.523.1717 to make a ride reservation. 

Congregate Meals

Congregate meals are offered at the Oxford Senior Center Monday thru Thursday, meal served at 12:15 pm, and at the Reily Presbyterian Church located at 6370 Peoria Reily Rd., Tuesdays with the meal served at 11:30 am.

Support Groups

Support Groups are held at the Oxford Seniors` center include Grief Support and Caregivers Support Group.  The facilitated meetings connect individuals concerned with similar issues.  The Caregivers Support Group meets on the second and fourth Thursday of the month at 1:15 pm. The Grief Support Group meets the first and third Mondays at 6:00 pm.  For more information, contact Sabrina Jewell at 513.523.8100 or [email protected].

Oxford Seniors Community Adult Day Service is a Council on Aging contracted service provider offering the following services:

    MISSION: Oxford Seniors is Dedicated to Serving Seniors and Strengthening Community. 

    Oxford Seniors has been serving Oxford and the surrounding communities since 1953.  In 1977, Oxford Senior Citizens became incorporated and began receiving funding from United Way and the area Council on Aging.  Senior transportation began in 1978 as the “Help Van,” and the Congregate Meal Program followed the same year. 

    In 1990, Oxford Seniors became the provider for the Home Delivered Meals Program, delivering hot, nutritious meals to homebound seniors.  The current Oxford Seniors building was completed in 1982.  The Community Adult Day Service was added in 2000 to serve older adults with special needs who cannot stay home alone.

Price Hill Community Center

Since 1968, CRC has honored Hamilton County seniors at the annual Senior Citizen Hall of Fame. More than 1,600 seniors, ages 60+ have been inducted. This event unifies the Cincinnati community and recognizes the benefits and talents of its extraordinary senior citizens. The Senior Citizen Hall of Fame is held in the fall of each year.

Adults and Seniors are invited to come out to the SCC and see what is going on! A variety of activities and programs for seniors are held during the day, with many classes and seminars held throughout the day and evening for all adults.

Springfield Township Senior Center

Description:

Springfield Township operates a Senior and Community Arts Center which is located on the Springfield Township Administrative campus, 9158 Winton Road. The center offers a variety of programs, activities, and educational opportunities for the senior community, age 55 and older during the day. Evenings and weekends are utilized for family and arts programming and for rentals. The facility offers a library, gift shop, arts and crafts room, and a fully equipped wood shop. The Senior Center is home to many fun and fulfilling activities.


St. Bernard Senior Center

Description:

The St. Bernard Senior Citizens Club meets every Wednesday in the Main Level of the Municipal Building from 11:00am-3:30pm. This club is for St. Bernard residents who are 50 years of age or older. Former members who now reside in a retirement/nursing home are also eligible to join. To become a member, one just needs to come to a meeting and provide your name, address, phone number and date of birth. The club has officers, which any member is welcome to run for, that are voted on by the members. These elections are held every two years in December.

A typical meeting consists of discussion (“Order of Business”) followed by a game of Bingo. There are also luncheons on the last Wednesday of each month for $5 per person. In months that have five weeks there is a potluck lunch in the middle of the month. Other activities include Casino/Racino bus trips, a Halloween costume party with cash prizes, and a yearly picnic sponsored by the Village. Additional suggestions are always welcome! Union Township Civic Center

Description:

Clermont Senior Services is a private, nonprofit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to serving older adults. Clermont Senior Services provides information on services for seniors, age 60 and over, who live in Clermont County, Ohio. For nearly forty years, Clermont Senior Services have been providing and coordinating in-home and community based services, which enable older adults to live independently for as long as possible. Clermont Senior Services also serves as an information and referral source for seniors, as well as their families and caregivers.
