COA board chair saluted among 2015 Men of Honor

Stanford T. Williams, Jr., Chairman of Council on Aging’s Board of Trustees, was recently named among the Cincinnati Herald’s 2015 Men of Honor, Salute to African American Men.
Williams and four other honorees were celebrated at an event, hosted by the Herald, in November.
According to the Herald, in its sixth year, Men of Honor provides a unique opportunity for the community to celebrate the accomplishments of African American men in Greater Cincinnati who have succeeded against all odds and achieved special greatness. Honorees receive a grant from The Men of Honor Foundation to designate to an organization of his choice that serves African American males.
Williams has served on Council on Aging’s Board of Trustees since 2008. He was appointment chairman of the board in 2015. He has also served as treasurer and vice chairman. Williams is Vice President, Chief Inclusion & Diversity Officer at Messer Construction. Under Williams’ leadership, Messer has received numerous awards and recognition for success in building relationships and partnerships with minority and women-owned businesses, and fostering diversity among the company’s workforce.
