The Geriatric Assessment Center is an organization that uses a variety of health care professionals such as physicians, nurses, social workers, dieticians, physical and occupational therapists, and others to conduct comprehensive assessments to develop recommendations for care. Usually the center has a geriatrician on staff, and is often affiliated with a hospital or university medical school. The center has access to a wide variety of health and social services. The assessment may be billed to Medicare.
