The last day to apply for the Homestead Exemption for individuals who qualified in 2013 is June 2, 2014.
Seniors who were 65 or older in 2013 or individuals found to be totally and permanently disabled as of January 1, 2013 and owned and occupied their homes since at least January 1, 2013 qualify for the state’s Homestead Exemption.
To apply, a Homestead Exemption Application form DTE 105A must be filed with your county auditor. Visit COA's Help4Seniors' Resource Directory for a listing of county auditors in Southwest Ohio.
New for 2014
Seniors turning 65 in 2014 and those found to be totally and permanently disabled as of January 1, 2014 who are newly applying for the Homestead Exemption will be eligible only if their household income for the tax year 2013 was less than $30,500.
Seniors and those who are disabled that currently receive the Homestead Exemption, will continue to receive it.
