You’re a caregiver. Whether you’re making a weekly phone call across the miles to check in, or providing 24-hour direct, hands-on care, that’s what you are. You may be caring for your aging parent or perhaps your spouse. There are no pre-requisites or time requirements; it only matters that you care.
But sometimes the burden can be too much. You may find yourself filled with stress and doubt. Are you there often enough? Are the responsibilities beyond your capabilities? Are the demands on your time taking a toll on your physical and emotional well-being? Oftentimes you may find yourself neglecting your own needs to care for theirs.
Jewish Family Service is prepared to help ease your burdens and work with you to make sure your needs are taken care of so you can best take care of theirs.
You can trust our team of experienced, licensed, and compassionate Geriatric Care Managers to provide individual family caregiver counseling to assist you in making decisions and solving problems related to your aging family member. Our staff include Certified Geriatric Care Managers, Licensed Independent and Licensed Social Workers as well as Nurse Practitioners. We are happy to meet with you at a location convenient for you whether at our office or in your home. These services are supported, in part, by Council on Aging via funding from Title III of the Older Americans Act.
