Council on Aging of Southwestern Ohio (COA) has moved its Wilmington office to a space inside Littleton Respiratory Homecare at 1682 Alex Drive. Office hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday, during which a COA staff member will be available to assist any walk-ins. Questions about COA services, including enrolling in programs such as the Clinton County Elderly Services Program, also can be made by calling 800-252-0155 or using the contact form at www.help4seniors.org.
Area residents visited the new site and met the staff at Littleton's Spring Tune-Up Day on April 30.
COA first opened a satellite office in Clinton County in June, 2014. At that time the office was located on Rombach Avenue in Wilmington. COA’s main office is in Springdale, but the Clinton County satellite office is important so that COA staff can work closer to the clients they serve and visit on a regular basis.
COA administers the Clinton County Elderly Services Program through a contract with the Clinton County Commissioners. The program receives nearly 90 percent of its funding from a 1.5-mill senior services tax levy. The rest of the funding comes from federal funds allocated by Council on Aging, client donations and client co-payments.
The program provides Meals on Wheels, housekeeping help, medical transportation, personal care and other basic services to help older adults remain independent in their homes. In 2015, the program served 439 seniors throughout Clinton County.
